Insurance Inspection

To make a long story short, I've just purchased a winter beater, and suspect that the shop I went to for an insurance inspection is trying to gouge me. Would anyone have a mechanic that they trust? (I suspect that the garage will need to be licensed..) Thanks!

Hi everyone
I am considering a used 1990 and wondered what would be an appropriate price for the following:

66,000kms, original owner, only summer driven -- asking $10,800 --- this price seems high to me ?

Also, is there a recommendation for a service center to do a thorough check on the car before buying ? How can I insure that the car has no issues with the 90/91 crankshaft issue ?

I am in Calgary.

The forum is too quiet. So lets see if this can get some activity going
90 miata 1.6 greddy turbo, emanage blue, injectors from a ford probe, o2 clamp, turbo timmer
All this was piece meal, Items I got off the net and hunting around. Still have my intercooler to install once I figure out my BOV system.
I have done all the work myself, this used to be a hobby/job 20 years ago ;-)

So if you read this drop a note maybe we can get some more activity on this forum!

Soft top replacement places in calgary

I just got a miata this weekend, and want to replace the soft top with one that has a glass window. Are there some recommended places for that here in Calgary? I have a 1991 NA version.

I am in town from the flatlands of Saskatchewan this week and wondering if anyone is doing a drive to anywhere this weekend. I was maybe planning a drive out to the mountains but if a few people have something organized for this weekend I would love the opportunity to tag along. It looks like it's going to be a beautiful weekend and I'm not much into hanging around the hotel.

poly bushings for sway bars

I have a question on what poly bushings I should use. I have installed front and rear RX-8 sways on my 06 MX-5 GT and want to change to the Energy Suspension bushings. I have not been able to find any kits that would fit the RX-8 sways but I have found out that Energy Suspension has generic bushing kits. I have measured the bars and the rear is 26.5 mm and the rear is 16.6 mm. The universals available are 25 and 27 mm for the front and 16 and 17 for the rear. Which ones should I get i.e a...

Washing car

I know that there is nothing better than hand washing your car on the driveway, but for those of us without garages or driveways, what's the best way to wash our cars?

Are there heated indoor car-wash facilities in the city that I can go to to hand-wash my car?

If not, then what is my best alternative if I cannot hand-wash? Gas station? Bubbles? Those do-it-yourself places with high pressure wands?

UPS to Border Address

A few months ago I came accross a link to a address accross the border from Ossoyoos in BC where guys were shipping parts and tires. A quick drive accross the border and payment of the GST at customs upon return and the parts were brought into Canada. I can't seem to find the address anywhere.
