I was told that Abbey Road is closing for good. Is this true? If yes, which is the next best place to get our cars serviced in Edmonton?

...and who told you that? If you didn't get if from Jim or Doug...I wouldn't believe it. They're busy every time I have work done there...and I
was there just two weeks ago for an oil change and heard nothing -- and I know them both well enough that they would have told me.

Jim,
That's awful news...sorry to hear that you've run into building trouble. There is an old Certiguard shop (former Petro Canada station) at 40th Ave & 114 St that's coming free. They just reclaimed the land (old tanks) due to the change in environmental requirements in September 2008 by AB-Env. Basically it's ready for pavement now (new soil). Three service bays (individual doors) plus a nice front end and land. Hopefully ARA is up and running soon...as you're the city's best resource for Mazdas...

I share the same sentiments. Jim and Doug have been nothing but terrific. I would hope ARA gets back up and running. If it shouldn't, Jim/Doug, let us know
where you go. I'm sure you'll continue to have a following as long as your turning a wrench.

Perhaps they could try St Albert ( Riel ?) or an industrial area in the east end. We would go to where they go. I am looking for a garage who could fix my
short nose crankshaft (1990) problem ... help ? please someone give a referral. Thanks Dave

Update, of sorts | ||
|
In speaking with Lee Moore, service writer at Weber Motors, and Doug's Moore's wife, she updated me that Jim's going back to Jarman Mazda (to be
the Service Manager), and Doug's still working on some options. From that, and the guarded responses from her, I'd have to surmise that ARA is dead.

I took my 1990 Miata to Rick's garage to fix the "shortnose" crankshaft problem ( using the locktite method. Works great.
Try them ( very buisy) Dave |
