I can bring my unit to someone instead of them chasing me if that would be preferable.
Thanks..

Anyone with a mspnp? Need to verify something... |

Hey guys, I'm just wondering if someone has a local MegasquirtPNP I can swap for 5 minutes or so. I bought a mildly used MSPNP and when I finally got
around to installing it, its not powering up. I was hoping I can swap mine for a quick test to verify if the unit is dead.

There is a fuse you have to pull before attempting to start with MSPNP. If not pulled it will hurt the unit. Instructions can be found on DIY's site.
Have you checked for spark? Does the fuel pump run? Give us some info maybe we can figure it out for you. Ron |

I only know of one mega-squirt equipped car in the club and he's not on the forum.

Hello!
Ron, I first posted this up here http://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t40796/ (excuse my choice of colourful language..maturity hasn't kicked in yet) The car does run with a stock ecu so I believe its not a mechnical issue with the vehicle but a problem with the electronic hardware of the Megasquirt. There is power coming to the harness... and I verified that the computer and usb-serial drivers are up to date. It just won't communicate with the aftermarket ecu. I tried different computer and I'm going to try a different cable to narrow it down to the unit. Richard, I guess the Megasquirt isn't very popular here I'll try to contact diyautotune.com's support staff to see if they have any ideas. If any of you have some tips it would be very much appreciated! Thank you all. |

Do you have a computer that you can just use a serial port instead of a usb converter? Have you actually configured Megatune properly on your computer?
Megasquirt is popular with me, I have 3 of them, but I don't have a MSPNP.

aphongt wrote:Nope...only one, all other turbos are FM. The two Moss/Sebring/JR superchargers run on whatever came with them back in the day, but AFAIK neither are Megasquirt. As mentioned, there is only one BEGI turbo kit recently with that type of ecu, and he's not on the forum.

Ron,
No I don't. But I think I figured it out. I opened up the megasquirt and found the connector that is bridging the two separate boards came loose. Reconnected and turned ignition to the on position and..the unit turned on! Thanks. -Alger T. |
