Posts: 36 May 4 10 5:56 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The instructions for the Nautilus horn from Thompson has excellent instructions and has everything you need to switch over from your stock horn. Because my car has a turbo and intercooler, I ran into a problem because the larger Nautilus horn won't fit where the stock horn does. This won't be a problem for normally aspirated Miatas. In my case I'll have to locate it somewhere lower down, behind the air dam below the grill. Will

Posts: 36 May 9 10 9:17 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	There is strut from the chassis to the fender, bolting to the fender at the front of the right wheel well. Where the other end of this strut bolts to the chassis is where I bolted my Nautilus. I had to take the Thompson-supplied bracket, cut it part way through and bend it to a right angle, in order to have the horn in the correct vertical orientation when installed. The horn is very loud and piercing. It's somewhat high pitched, but then that's part of what makes it audible to other drivers - for safety's sake, of course. One complaint about the kit. Thompson/Nautilus supply the kit with a 20 amp fuse, to replace the 15 amp stop light/horn fuse. Trouble is it's bigger and won't plug in to where the 15 amp fuse goes. I've tried the horn a few times and nothing has blown. It might blow if I slam on the brakes at the same time as hitting the horn...we'll see.

Thompsons told me the NC's needed a different fuse ? You are right though, they did send a 20 Amp fuse. Still waiting for Steve to get in touch. Duncan has not installed yet. I will keep everyone posted on this horn style and the opinions on it. Carl

The job was a little more difficult for me since you're supposed to install it through the nose of the car and my intercooler got in the way. I ended up disassembling the entire hood release/catch mechanism in order to be able to fit the horn into the designated space. Total time spent was about 90 minutes. Sounds good - quite a bit louder than stock, which is what I wanted. Thanks again to Dave and Carl for organizing the group buy. Steven

The instructions did not match up with my '96 at all. My factory horn bracket was different (one piece, not two), I didn't have the cooling lines that the instructions talked about for mounting the new horn. I just went ahead and did a custom install. Not to mention, the 20A fuse they gave me is the wrong size for my fusebox. I need to hit Cdn Tire for the proper one. Horn sounds great . . . instructions and kit . . . not so. Darren

Have not had a chance to use it yet but i am sure it will not be long, with some of the drivers on our streets. Install seems to be geared more towards the NA's . Carl
